Is it possible and/or supported to run Softgrid server components on Micrsoft
Virtual Server(s)? If it's not, are there plans to support this later (for example with Windows 2008 Hyper-V Virtual Services) ? Thanks in advance! Regards, Fred |

I can imagine that thist support will be the same as the support for the OS,
where Microsoft states that it does not support Virtualized machines in a production environment (yet), I hope they will chage this stance once Hyper-V will be final. if you ask whether it RUNS on a virtual server, I can answer you: YES, I deliver training on softgrid, and I do this in a Virtual Server environment, I do not know how this will work with preformance when set up in a production environment. good luck Eric Denekamp "Fred74" <Fred74@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:C790C942-0710-43F2-B49E-52D262159A5B@microsoft.com... > Is it possible and/or supported to run Softgrid server components on > Micrsoft > Virtual Server(s)? > > If it's not, are there plans to support this later (for example with > Windows > 2008 Hyper-V Virtual Services) ? > > Thanks in advance! > > Regards, > > Fred |

This is completely and categorically untrue and has never been the case. Microsoft has supported running client OS' in production since VPC 2004 was released and server OS' since Virtual Server was released. I have no idea where you got the idea that Microsoft states that it doesn't support virtualized machines in a production environment but you are completely and totally wrong about that. -- Paul Adare MVP - Virtual Machines http://www.identit.ca Compatible: Gracefully accepts erroneous data from any source. |

OK, so I stand corrected. I thought they had the stance that they did not
support it virtualized,, or they did, up til a point where when a problem came up they would ask you to reevrt the machine to a physical machine and see if the problem was still there. (if this is the case, I do not call this support.) thanks for the info.
