Hi,
I have a job that executes on ServerA. ServerA is running Windows Server 2003 SP1 and SQL Server 2000 SP3. This job executes a Stored Procedure that has the statements BEGIN TRAN and COMMIT TRAN and it Selects the data from a database on ServerB and inserts it into a table in a database on ServerA. This job fails with the error message: Server: Msg 7391, Level 16, State 1, Line 10 The operation could not be performed because the OLE DB provider 'SQLOLEDB' was unable to begin a distributed transaction. [OLE/DB provider returned message: New transaction cannot enlist in the specified transaction coordinator. ] OLE DB error trace [OLE/DB Provider 'SQLOLEDB' ITransactionJoin::JoinTransaction returned 0x8004d00a]. ServerB was until recently running on Windows Server 2000 but got moved to Windows Server 2003 SP2 Enterprise edition. The SQL Server is SQL Server 2000 SP4 Version 8.00.2187. Any suggestions will be appreciated. |
