What Protocols should be enabled using a local copy of SQL Express?

For local connections using Shared Memory (enabled by default) is
sufficient. To connect from remote computers you need to enable TCP/IP
and/or Named Pipes (both disabled by default). VIA is not supported in SQL
Server Express.
