Perhaps the "script" is counting the headers as well?

My guess: 57KB altogether, spread over 29 articles, i.e. around 2KB per
article.

What is wrong is that you are taking the header literally; the
amounts are clearly cumulative totals.

No. The typical total content of headers is in the 1k to 2k
range. It never approaches 57k.
