Other solution? Run Linux.

PHP and MySQL were made for Linux anyway and ported over to Windows,
most flavours of Linux come with it included (you just select it from
the list when installing), and Linux runs better on a light machine
than Win2K.

Allthough for server purposes this can be quite a good solution, there
should be no trouble running PHP & MySQL under W2K. Heck, I've done it for
years.

My newsserver doesn't seem to carry the original post though, anyone who
does see that care to clarify what the exact problem is running it? The
installers of both PHP & MySQL work pretty well 'out of the box'
nowadays...

Download and install XAMP, this will install all the required bits and
bobs in one easy step as sometimes Mysql support can be a little tricky
to configure under windows due to mismatched DLL's.

It includes

Apache 2.2

PHP 5.1.4

MySQL 5?
