I had a first opportunity to view my site using IE7 under Vista. It was
atrocious! Could someone with the same system look at

No worse than with any other browser with your font size ignored or notched
up a couple of stops.

Hint: pt is for print, not screen and 10.5 of them is not enough for me. I
immediately upped *my* font size (FF) and the page fell apart.

Forgot to add that the real problem for the "distortion" is that you are
trying to fit a totally variable[1] block of text into a fixed height (25px)
box. Won't happen.

[1] It's variable because of your viewers screen DPI, (not resolution), the
font in use and theie chosen font size (not necessarily yours).

You're correct, of course.

I'm able to duplicate your result in FF, but not in IE6 or Opera 9.23. But,
what you see in FF is what I saw in IE7.

Not what I see in an out of the box IE7, which will not resize with font
size specified in px or pt. You must have viewed it in an IE7 with "ignore
font sizes specified in webpages" turned on. When I turn that on I see
exactly what I see in FF. BTW I also usually have a minimum font size
specified in FF so the problem was immediately apparent.

In 9.23 I'm only seeing a horizontal scroll bar when I increase font size.
No 'foldover.'

Thanks. I understand the error of my ways and will quickly move to resolve
the issue.

I designed the site to be viewed with a 1024 X 768 browser window on a 20+
inch LCD at 1280 X 1024. I neglected to anticipate the user changing font
size. Thanks, again.
