Hi, I'm not very skilled on MS server envinroments, but I would understand
if I can manage synchronization between 2 servers. Servers are on 2 different offices linked by a bit slow connection. User on an office usually don't access to the resources of the other one, but it has to be possible. I plan to use a BDC like a "cache" for the first office to speed up data access from the local user. Data trasfer between the offices will be low and limited to the modified data sync. What do you think? It's possible? Sorry for my english... -- ..jac |

The BDC should handle local but it is not uncommon
for the machines to use the DC across the link. It may be necessary to manipulate the secure channel. Have a look: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/181171/en-us You can also manipulate the synch pulse to have it synchronize in the evening: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/207552/en-us "jacobbe" <jac@workstation.tict> wrote in message news:pan.2006.12.05.00.11.59.921653@workstation.ti ct... > Hi, I'm not very skilled on MS server envinroments, but I would understand > if I can manage synchronization between 2 servers. > > Servers are on 2 different offices linked by a bit slow connection. > User on an office usually don't access to the resources of the other one, > but it has to be possible. > > I plan to use a BDC like a "cache" for the first office to speed up data > access from the local user. > > Data trasfer between the offices will be low and limited to the modified > data sync. > > What do you think? Hi Jacob,
You can set how frequently the BDC and PDC synch account info by modifying the registry pulse parameter: http://www.microsoft.com/technet/arc....mspx?mfr=true -- hth, SusanV "jacobbe" <jac@workstation.tict> wrote in message news:pan.2006.12.05.00.11.59.921653@workstation.ti ct...
