Par défaut tftp-server without creating files before download

hi ,

does anybody know a tftp-server for sun-solaris, which have no need to
create the file
before downloading? The original solaris tftp-server doesn't offer this
feature.

thanks

marc

What do you mean? What exactly do you want to do? What has the
tftp server to do with creating a downloaded file?

How exactly do you propose to download the file before you create
it? With the optional "time-warp" feature?

hi stephane,

here a litle bit more details. I use the original tftp-server (sun solaris 8
sparc). Everytime
i want to download a cisco router-configuration-file, i have to create
before a blank file with the name of
the downloading file. This is the reason, why i nead a tftp-server like the
windows or linux one.
On a linux sytem you can simply start the tftp-server with an option and you
download any file without creating
the filename before in /tftpboot.

i hope these details to undestand my problem

greetings marc

He obviously means "upload".

The standard TFTP server on most Unix systems will not create new files
in response to an upload. It will only overwrite existing files, and
requires that they be world-writable.

He wants to send a file from a TFTP client to a Unix server, and doesn't
want to have to login to the server first to create the file. So he's
looking for a TFTP server that doesn't have the above restriction.
