For some reason all our Outlook clients suddently cannot send and the logs
simply show the message

did not issue MAIL/EXPN/VRFY/ETRN during connection to MTA


Any ideas please.

Something somewhere changed

Seriously, there's been a change to at least one of the following:

1) Client configuration (including firewall software)
2) Routers/firewalls en-route
3) Mail server (including firewall configuration)

Sadly, you provide no useful information beyond the error message.
