Par défaut programs still look for the old server

Hi,

Any with this problem is much appreciated.

A server which had managed software directory has been retired and a new
server has replaced this.

The old server was named Medusa and the new server Zeus.

Medusa had a folder which contained software that was distributed via group
policy.

The policy location cant be changed ie Medusa. The only option is to
recreate the policy with the new location. This causes problems as the
software then uninstalls and reinstalls to the client.

What I would like to achieve is to have any references to Medusa be
transferred to the new server Zeus.

I deleted medusa from dns and active directory computers. I then made a dns
entry for medusa to point to the IP address of zeus. This dosent work.

I just cant seem to get get my head around this. Can this be done?

Thanks,

NickC
