I deploy computers to remote sites to support our products. These computers
are all Windows XP SP2 (+ patches). They are NOT members of our Security domain, but are part of a workgroup. They connect to my monitoring network using OpenVPN. (Various reasons for using OpenVPN and that may change but it's what's in place today.) Currently, I specify a virtual IP under OpenVPN for each unit. Then manually register that unit on our DNS server. Is there a way to have the XP system dynamically register it's IP address with our DNS server? Ie, a command like Net Use RegDNS or something? I need it to register the virtual IP assigned by OpenVPN rather than the "physical" IP assigned to the ethernet port. Thank you. |
