Hi. I have a client who has built his own SBS server and somehow managed to
mess up DNS. The domain name is company.local, but looking at AD U & C, the fqdn for the server shows as server.company. PC's show as pc.company.local. Not sure how he managed to do this, but now running dcdiag before installing Exchange I get rcode_server_failure and several other weird issues. The question is, can I change the fqdn for the server and how do I do it? Bearing in mind that it is SBS, I can't demote and re-promote. TIA Andrew |

Hi,
The errors in the event log are netlogon 5781, 5782 & 5774. The article looks promising, so I will have a try when I get a chance, but I'm a little (lot!!) wary as it is a SBS box with of course no alternate DC. Risky. Thanks Andrew "Jorge Silva" <jorgesilva_pt@hotmail.com> wrote in message news:uB5Yiu%23rGHA.4004@TK2MSFTNGP02.phx.gbl... > Hi > > check this link > http://support.microsoft.com/?id=257623&sd=RMVP > > What errors are you seing on eventviewer > did you run dcdiag, netdiag and checked for output erros > > -- > I hope that the information above s you > > Good Luck > Jorge Silva > MCSA > Systems Administrator > > "AMB" <andrewb@iqt.com.au> wrote in message > news:O4GMT9rrGHA.1224@TK2MSFTNGP04.phx.gbl... >> Hi.
