I am having a problem getting email from a particular site and I believe it
is because of a DNS problem. The domain is wsd-moscow.ru and if I perform an nslookup on that domain with my current DNS configuration the lookup times-out while I am able to lookup, for instance, goggle.ru, microsoft.com, etc. I know it is a valid domain. I thought the root.hint servers were supposed to take care of particular DNS routing such situations as this. My DNS server is 2003. Any would be very appreciated!! Thanks, Bob |

Yes, it is a valid domain, but I've test resolved this domain against seven different unrelated DNS servers with a type=any query and the best time I could get was 745 ms, most were over 1500 ms and up to 2406 ms. If you are behind a Cisco PIX or another firewall that blocks DNS extensions that uses UDP packets over 512 bytes, it could be an EDNS0 issue. 828263 - DNS query responses do not travel through a firewall in Windows Server 2003: http://support.microsoft.com/default...828263&sd=RMVP -- Best regards, Kevin D.
