Bonjour,

J'ai voulu activer la 3D de ma carte NVidia Geforce 4 MX 440 sous ubuntu
dapper, et j'ai donc suvi le tutoriel présent sur le wiki
d'ubuntu.(http://doc.ubuntu-fr.org/materiel/nvidia)

Malgré plusieurs tests de configuration, diverses recherches, un essai
avec les drivers legacy, j'ai toujours le même problème qui survient :

J'arrive à me connecter en graphique environ 1 minute, et après le poste
plante. La souris bouge encore à l'écran, mais je ne peux plus rien
faire. Un CTRL+ALT+DEL ne donne rien. Je veux passer en console avec un
CTRL+ALT+F1, mais ca ne fonctionne pas non plus. Je suis obligé de
redémarrer la machine pour me sortir de là.

J'ai testé différentes configurations de xorg.conf à la main également,
mais j'ai toujours le même problème.

J'ai également des symptomes bizarres pendant la minute ou je suis
connecté : Les fenêtres laissent des "traces" derrière elles lorsque je
les déplace, un peu comme quand explorer est planté sous windows.

Le fait de remplacer simplement "nvidia" par "nv" dans xorg.conf pour
réutiliser le driver par défaut sans 3D résoud tous les problèmes, ce
n'est donc pas à proori lié aux autres périphériques.

Je ne m'en sors pas.
Je mets une copie de mon xorg.conf, si l'un de vous pouvait me filer un
petit coup de main, parce que la je sèche lamentablement.

Comme mon ordinateur est aussi équipé d'une Nvidia GeForce 4 MX 440 et
tourne aussi sous UBUNTU Dapper Drake, notre situation est assez
similaire... Pourtant, sur ma machine, aucun problème !

Voici mon fichier xorg.conf, regarde-le et tu trouveras peut-être la
solution à ton problème ? Le contenu semble tout de même très proche de
celui de ton fichier (Excepté les modifications que j'ai apportées dans la
section "Extensions" et dans la section "Device" (toutes ces modifications
étant pour activer l'extension Composite, pas forcément utile)).
Le problème viendrait peut-être de tes périphériques de marque "Wacom" (une
tablette graphique ?)...

c'est drôle j'avais le même problème avec ma souris (mêmes message, sauf que
le périphérique était /dev/input/mice)

après 'modprobe mousedev' plus de problème ! doit y avoir un équivalent pour
la tablette graphique ?

Elle marche bien la tablette ?, actuellement je ne peux l'utiliser que
comme une souris standard : pas de gestion de la pression/gomme, j'ai pas
l'adéquation entre la zone sensitive de la tablette et la taille d'une
fenêtre sous gimp

Comme l'a justement fait remarqué Batman, c'est dans les dernières
lignes que le problème se trouve. Le fichier périphérique '/dev/wacom'
N'EXISTE PAS !
Comme je n'ai jamais eu à faire à ce genre de matériel, je ne peut que
te conseiller de chercher sur le web (genre google.com/linux) de l'aide
sur comment configurer correctement son serveur X avec une tablette
WACOM; peut-être sur leur site y a-t-il de l'aide s'y rapportant?.
C'est de ce coté qu'est le problème et non avec NVIDIA-GLX, donc
tu peut garder ton driver nvidia.

De plus, il y a dans le noyau linux, le support pour WACOM en USB,
peut-être faut-il que tu ais (pas sûr de l'orthographe ) à recompiler
ton noyau en utilisant le dernier, bien sûr! (2.6.17). (et si c'est bien
ton matos).

visiblement glx pose problème : mets un # devant 'Load "glx"' pour voir
(garde quand même une copie de ton xorg complet dans un coin)

j'ai l'impression que ta carte ne soit plus reconnue (c'est mon cas),
j'utilise le driver nv en attendant au lieu de nvidia

IL FAUT COMMENTER LA LIGNE 'Load DRI'
lorsque tu utilises 'glx'

Tu n'as pas bien lu la doc ............

Avec le driver nvidia est installe un outil pour configurer le fichier
de config automatiquement, l'as-tu fait ??? L'installeur NVIDIA te le
propose à la fin de l'install (nvidia-xconfig) .......
Et quel est le materiel que tu utilises exactement, wacom ou pas ?

Confirmes moi si c'est bien le dernier noyau 2.6.17, ou approchant, qui
est installé ? si oui, comme il est compilé avec tout un tas de trucs
(car c'est une distrib) , en faisant un lsmod, tu devrais voir 'wacom'
quelque part.
