Hi all,
What happens if a receiver gets a packet with DF set to 1 but can not process it? What will it notify the sender? Also can somebody tell me the size of a UDP frame? Thanks. |

If a router receives a packet with DF set, but it's too large to forward on the next link, it drops the packet and sends ICMP Fragmentation Required but DF Set to the sender. > Also can somebody tell me the size of a UDP frame? The maximum size of a UDP datagram is the maximum size of an IP datagram, 65536 bytes including the IP and UDP headers. -- Barry Margolin, barmar@alum.mit.edu Arlington, MA *** PLEASE post questions in newsgroups, not directly to me *** *** PLEASE don't copy me on replies, I'll read them in the group *** |
