Par défaut Issue installing Reporting Services on a SQL Server 2005 SP1 insta

Can anyone confirm they are having a similar issue. Are there any
resolutions? Please refer below.

The version of the report server database is either in a format that is not
valid, or it cannot be read. The found version is 'Unknown'. The expected
version is 'C.0.8.40'. To continue, update the report server database and
verify access rights. (rsInvalidReportServerDatabase).

If I click Yes, it attempts to update the database (that it just created!),
and bombs out with the following error:

ReportServicesConfigUI.WMIProvider.WMIProviderExce ption: The version does
not match a supported version.

at
ReportServicesConfigUI.WMIProvider.RSReportServerA dmin.GenerateDatabaseUpgradeScript(String databaseName, String serverVersion, String& script)

Thanks.

Hi Mark,

Thanks for posting.

Before we go any further, I think following information is needed:

1. When did this error message comes out on earth? During the installation
process or Configuration process?

2. Does this instance ever installed RS before?

3. If the problem does occur during the installation process, please :
a) Take a screen shot of this error message.
b) Check the installation log.
You can send me the screen shot and installation log to
v-xuwen@microsoft.com

4. If the problem occur when you trying to configure RS, please try to
apply SP1 on the instance again.

Thanks.

Best regards,

Hi Mark,

Thanks for your mail and clarifying.

For your current situation, I suggest you re-apply SP1 on the database
instance because you install RS after apply sp1 on the database.

Thanks.
