I don't think it is there. Don't give them local administrative
access to their machines. "man" <man@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:... > > NT4 group policy can restrict user to install s/w into their pc? > I can't find it, Anyone can ? |

Hi Michael,
Is there one in 2003? Upgrading soon - thank goodness! Unfortunately, our accounting system requires users have local admin permissions, (at least until I dig into what registry keys the app needs access to - sage software claims they don't know. Phht!) Thanks, SusanV "Michael Giorgio - MS MVP" <Michael.Giorgio@NoSpam.mayerson.com> wrote in message news:e6tcGi84GHA.3512@TK2MSFTNGP04.phx.gbl... >I don't think it is there. Most times it's not as complicated as giving registry keys permissions. You
can usually get away with giving the end user "modify" rights to the program folder. Sometimes they stick folders or .ini files in the \Windows folder or subfolders that will need modify rights as well. Thanks - if I ever get a few minutes perhaps I can look into this, and
hopefully you have hit it on the head! ;-D SusanV "Ray" <no@repliesplease.com> wrote in message news:O5w9b9oLHHA.3424@TK2MSFTNGP02.phx.gbl... > Most times it's not as complicated as giving registry keys permissions. > You can usually get away with giving the end user "modify" rights to the > program folder.
