If still use old NT Domain Controller network and add new box with Windows
2003 Server (as member or standalone server in the network), can we use the Disk / user quota feature provided from Server 2003? Thanks. |

Hi Eco,
sure. The disk quota is a feature of NTFS. Yes, Quota will work. However, to make better use of it, you should put the Win2k3 as a member server of the domain so that you can specify domain accounts and bound domain accts with quota on the win2k3 server. Do note, that if you are using w2k3 sp1 and earlier, you can only set quota based on volume. You cannot bound quota by the share. If you are using R2, yes you can specify share level quota. -- Best Regards, Dennis Chung MCP, MCSA (2k3/Security), MCSE (2000/2003) MCDBA, MCTS (SQL 2005), MCITP (SQL 2005 - DBA) Microsoft Certified Trainer, Microsoft MVP - Windows Microsoft Windows & SQL Server Advisory Panel Member MS IT Academy - Mentor (APAC) MS Vista & Office12 Influencer Lead (APAC) Singapore Windows User Group (http://sgWindowsGroup.org) "Eco" <eco@hotmail.com> wrote in message news:uZQ1ejLoGHA.4332@TK2MSFTNGP03.phx.gbl... > If still use old NT Domain Controller network and add new box with Windows > 2003 Server (as member or standalone server in the network), can we use > the > Disk / user quota feature provided from Server 2003?
