I recall it used to be an option to install the client tools only when
installing sqlserver 2000. Now I have my MSDN sqlserver 2005 developer edition CD one and two that I have used before when installing sqlserver. But on this particular machine I only want to install the client tools. It seems there is no such option to install client tools only. What I'm after is Management Studio. I went through the install and there is no mention of installing client tools only. What am I missing? Thanks, T |

The option is in there. On the window with the various checkboxes for
database services, analysis services, integration services, and so on you want to check the "Workstation components, Books Online, and development tools" checkbox. Click the Advanced button to further choose what you want to install. -- Keith Kratochvil "Tina" <TinaMSeaburn@nospamexcite.com> wrote in message news:%23J%232LvO2GHA.1568@TK2MSFTNGP03.phx.gbl... >I recall it used to be an option to install the client tools only when >installing sqlserver 2000.
