I have purchased hosting from a new company.
I have tried to get some answers from them, but still have not heard back from them. When I install a script, it automatically changes from http://www.nowhere.com/script/install to http://nowhere.com/script/install nowhere.com is fake for privacy reasons. There is no redirect setup in Cpanel and I'm not sure what is causing this. Does anyone have any ideas? Please do not respond with get a new host. |

In that case, use example.com as it's reserved for.... examples. > There is no redirect setup in Cpanel and I'm not sure what is causing > this. > > Does anyone have any ideas? Might be configured in httpd.conf. But, eh, what's the problem? The whole www thing is in most cases a horrible artifact anyway. > Please do not respond with get a new host. get an old host -- John Bokma http://johnbokma.com/ |

If you feel you have waited a reasonable amount of time and still have not received a response, that's a problem. Why would you want to stay with a host that doesn't respond to technical questions in a timely manner? What do you think is going to happen when your site goes down and you REALLY need to get in touch with them? There are thousands of website hosts. Why stick it out with a crappy one? -- Alex http://www.blastoffgames.com - Video Game Price Comparison Engine |

And if you feel you waited an adequate amount of time with no response (6 hours is my threshold), regardless of what you want to hear....get a new host before a serious issue goes unaddressed! |

Happen during any script install? Or just a particular script? |

Whilst I agree that the install script is probably in error, dropping the www shouldn't matter. If it does matter then is this because http://nowhere.com doesn't have a corresponding DNS lookup? If so then I'd fix that first. Hope this s. -- Brian Cryer www.cryer.co.uk/brian |

I have kind of resolved the problem.
If I put a / after the end of the url it will not take out the www. Does anyone know what could be causing this? |
