Vanity publishing is *very* popular. When I was young, the vanity
publishers charged people to publish their books. Now we have
Wikipedia, Facebook and blogs to allow people to publish and be
"famous".

How many of those do you think they send out every year? I've been
getting multiple ones for nigh onto 20 years now. So has my wife and
many other people I know.
