Who has any tips about choosing colors for a website?
Not being a designer I've always struggled with this, particularly when I had to go beyond monochromatic. So, I've been studying a little color theory and have run across triad and tetradic color schemes. Slap forehead. Who is designing this way and are you using similar saturation or lightness values for the chosen colors? I'm going to update my javascript color picker to generate these color schemes and plug them into a template. If there's any interest I'll post it later. Jeff |

You can pick up a color wheel from most art supply stores for a couple of bucks, handy for the early stages and to give you a good idea of what colors work best together. You can also google "color wheel" and find a few sites with javascript color wheels you can use to pick colors that work well together. Nowadays, however, I just hire freelance graphic designers out of Mexico. For $300-500 you can get some extremely high end and quality work and its usually ready in 2-3 days, and thats even after they've provided a sample and done revisions. |

Do you have any resources or links along these lines you'd like to share? This really sounds like exactly the direction I need to go in... Thanks, Jeff > > |

How could you have missed it? I was in Mexico only last week. There's a wide dashed line, just like on the maps, that runs along the streets and sidewalks. BTW, Mexico was nice, but there's a lot of people who look like illegals roaming everywhere. They were the Texans. -- Ed Jay (remove 'M' to respond by email) |

They were the Texans. Hey! I resemble that (La Porte, TX). But I have never been to Mexico, afraid they might not let me back in. -- Wayne www.glenmeadows.us "Faith means not wanting to know what is true." [Nietzsche] |
