I don't do wysiwyg design, but the Gimp (http://www.gimp.org/) is a
very good open source image editor. That may meet your needs.

Yes, definitely Gimp. For quicky image cleanup, Raw Studio is
excellent, but that is the only thing it does.

I tried to download Gimp, but showed up as a blank page when I clicked
the ftp link to download when all the choices came up.

Maybe something set wrong in your browser, whatever that browser is.
Try switiching browsers. If that doesn't work, post particulars
about what operating system and browsers you are using.

KompoZer, http://www.kompozer.net is also open source and quite a good
WYSIWYG editor, but as with all of those you at least need a half
decent knowledge of HTML.
