Hi,

I am for some months with globat. They tell me on the website offering
a good service for a good price. But what happens now : my page almost
don't shows up. It's so slow. They say it havs to do wioth my PHP
database, but it's programmed by professionals. And it works well on
other servers.
So I never should recommend Globat : slow servers, no .
Anyone else has bad experience with globat ?

I've never heard of Globat myself, but I can understand your
irritation with slow servers. I found out the hard way from Cirtex
Hosting myself. All the same, my friends who are hosted with them tell
me that they've cleaned up their act now...you might want to check
them out. I'm hosted on Synhosting.com right now...and everything
being very good so far, I've been impressed by their quick and
friendly support.

Professional does not necessarily mean good code. It just means someone
got paid for it. I've seen a lot of "professionals" create pretty
crappy code.

As for "other servers" - do you mean on their dedicated test system?
Could be it's a super-fast system and you're the only thing running on it.

With that said - I did a quick search on the internet and found the
usual mix of reviews - from very good to very bad. But it's a cheap
hosting company, and you get what you pay for.

The one that bothered me most was at
http://www.zenkimchi.com/FoodJournal/?p=270

I think they could into some serious legal trouble with something like
this. But then IANAL.
