Hi,

Has anyone checked if there's a connection between how much you use
Google AdWords and the position on Google you get for the site?

Google won't reveal how the ranking works and I can imagine that they
give a few extra credits to sites which improve their cash flow.

Yes, it's a bit of a conspiracy, but they're in it for the money and it
would
be naive to think anything else.

So, what do you say?

Mike

Tosh.

If Google were that desperate for a few pennies, they'd favor the
*publishers* doing best, as that would expose them to even more activity.

But don't tell me - your cousin was on the Grassy Knoll when Marilyn Monroe
was murdered in the Fake Moon Landings.

Keep on truckin' - and you'll die lonely.
Open your eyes and smell the coffee - it's time to grow up.

First things first - but not necessarily in that order.

They are adamant that they are blind to both adsense and adwords, when
ranking websites.

I got rid of it months ago, it was just looking to spammy to me. Sure I miss
my $100 check every two or three months but my driveway sealing business
site remains at the top for all my key words. Yes it is a small service
industry but with the of BB, Jez and a few others around here my serps
remain at the top or at least in the top 10. When I go to a new site and see
all that google crap on both sides with a logo in the middle I'm out of
there. I don't even bother to scroll down most of the time.

I know what you mean. Changing colors might have made it less spammy looking.

It is a matter of 2 orders of magnitude more money for me, no way I
could give it up.

Some sites that are largely informational are ed to survive by
their adsense revenue, so if it's such a site I wouldn't be too quick
to judge.
