Hello!
Can you write me if white text on the main page takes part in indexing by robots? I mean white by setting the css style="color:white", the same as background color of my page. If so, is it possible to place some long text which is not visible on the page but is placed on the web page. I would like to do so to take this text into account by robots. Which html tag and which way should I use then? Thank you Marcin |

I have been reading a book about web search positioning and I have read that robots give more wages (that is points in ranking) key words placed in the beginning of the <body> tag. I also thought that this text will not be in good composition of my rest web structure. Marcin |

Your intention may well not be spamming but will be perceived as such. Best not to do it. The advice you read actually worked for a while in 1998 - but since then the search engines have learned to recognise such obvious attempts to cheat, and have changed the result - not promotion, but a ban. A much better way to get good search engine results is to build a better site! But you can your site by learning how search engines work, and avoiding errors. Stick around, but be careful and don't believe everything you read ;o) -- Andrew http://www.seo2seo.com/ http://www.sick-site-syndrome.com/ First things first - but not necessarily in that order. Take a look at http://www.thequattroworkshop.co.uk Once the page has loaded, do a CTRL-A or drag your mouse across the page. See the hidden text? Now do this search: http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=xx...op.co.uk&meta= That's what happens - the site is banned from Google's index. |

I can't see why it would be banned for that. Penalised, maybe. I'm inclined to think there's more to it.
