Hi
If there is anyone here with expertise in cpanel and dedicated servers, I would be grateful. I cannot alter my DNS settings to point to the new server. I am getting little or no from godaddy, and about to throw it all in because of it. Now my site is offline. Sheesh plh Paul -- http://www.firstpeople.us/FP-Html-Le...w-legends.html http://www.firstpeople.us/native-ame...n-pottery.html http://www.houstoncrafts.com/houston...elry-june.html |

But doesn't say what the error is !!! I can alter it to other name servers, just not the one I want it to - ie, the dedicated server. Getting soooooooo stressed by it and godaddy are as ful as wet toilet paper. plh paul -- http://www.firstpeople.us/FP-Html-Le...w-legends.html http://www.firstpeople.us/native-ame...n-pottery.html http://www.houstoncrafts.com/houston...elry-june.html |

I don't think that you can point to a nameserver that is not working - though i could be wrong. |

I thought they did that as they set the account up. This morning I looked lie Marc Bolan... now I look like Homer Simpson :/ waaaaaaaaaay to much stress. BTW, i am offering dedicated servers to a few people. Yourself, BB, SEOdave Marcin and Stacey, but Stacey is busy atm. Not doing it for profit, but I cannot afford the $175 a month. So, basically you'll pay exactly what I pay for it - in proporton of course. Hopefully it is sorted now. Fingers x Thank again plh Paul -- http://www.firstpeople.us/FP-Html-Le...w-legends.html http://www.firstpeople.us/native-ame...n-pottery.html http://www.houstoncrafts.com/houston...elry-june.html |

Hi, Thanks for the offer, but I already have a dedicated server that fulfils my needs currently (upgraded recently blogged about it here http://www.morearnings.com/2007/06/1...ting-problems/). BTW Unless it's managed $175 a month is relatively high you know, there are much better deals around for unmanaged. Good luck with the server, can be a headache at times, but gives so much freedom when it comes to creating sites. David -- http://www.google-adsense-templates.co.uk/ |

Okay, no worries. >BTW Unless it's managed $175 a month is relatively high you know, >there are much better deals around for unmanaged. I've no idea. I was kinda forced into it by the hosting company. They suspended my site cos it was "busy" - I didn't even have 100 people on the site at the time. >Good luck with the server, can be a headache at times, but gives so >much freedom when it comes to creating sites. Thank you. I have had some headaches with it already - hence the post here. plh Paul >David -- http://www.firstpeople.us/FP-Html-Le...w-legends.html http://www.firstpeople.us/native-ame...n-pottery.html http://www.houstoncrafts.com/houston...elry-june.html |

I am surprised that you didn't go for a VPS - they are quite a lot cheaper and you can pretty much get off the shelf made to measure. might be worth you looking into. Regards, Jez. |

I am surprised I am on a dedicated server. This all started the other day when my site was suspended. I was on one account and was doing fine. Then upgraded to a resellers package. Only been on it 2 weeks or less and they turned off my site due to excessive use of their resources. The site was hardly busy - about 100 online at the time. I used to get 900 per hour when on the smaller account. I may stay with this one for a month or 2, but if it gets too expensive, then I will move. Apparently, it had nothing to do with b/w as I don't even use 60gb a month [way below what I am allowed] So, finding one that suits my site and not expensive is my next problem. plh Paul >Regards, > >Jez. -- http://www.firstpeople.us/FP-Html-Le...w-legends.html http://www.firstpeople.us/native-ame...n-pottery.html http://www.houstoncrafts.com/houston...elry-june.html |

Me too, I can't see why you'd need one for a basic affiliate site or three. I don't think you got the best deal there. And I have no need for a piece of it, sorry, thanks for the offer. >This all started the other day when my site was suspended. >I was on one account and was doing fine.
