Try My Computer --> Control Panel --> Regional Options and set to "English USA". Seems to work on one of my W2k systems - the one next to it is set to "English United Kingdom". On the "USA" machine, news.google.com comes up with the USA news as default and on the "UK" machine I get the UK news as default. Worth a try. |

It is possible to get different geopositioned results by altering the
query string in the Google query i.e http://www.google.co.uk/search?num=1...G=Search&meta= if you append &gl=us onto the end of it you get the geographic location results for the US http://www.google.co.uk/search?num=1...ch&meta=&gl=us you should see that both of the results are different |

Whether right or wrong, I use the google toolbar installed on firefox with the search engine set as google.com while having the default search engine on firefox (top RH corner) selected as google.co.uk Sponsored adverts for the toolbar results are still UK specific, but results on the toolbar .com are significantly different to the browser ..co.uk results with top listings being .com's and predominantly US sites. More specifically there is no selection for "results from UK or results from the web" as there is on .co.uk. Hopefully I didn't confuse in that attempted explanation. :¬) Pete -- http://gymratz.co.uk - Best Gym Equipment & Bodybuilding Supplements UK. http://fitness-equipment-uk.com - UK's No.1 Fitness Equipment Suppliers. http://water-rower.co.uk - Worlds best prices on the Worlds best Rower. http://trade-price-supplements.co.uk - Bulk Order Supps. at Trade Prices |
