I see a lot of people adding social bookmarks and other buttons to the
bottom of their blog posts; I think it is to promote their blog. I have a blog I try to keep clean and rich text and free of unnecessary clutter. However, if these plug ins are useful to create long term, not 1 day traffic I will consider it. For example, I think a 'digg it' button will only create a once day spike. Further will readers really uses these buttons. I am curious what others think? Mark http://www.claritaslux.com/blog/ |

PR, b. incoming links to improve SE position? TBH I don't know if it does or not but sure someone here must know the answer? http://www.softsamba.co.uk/ - Software ShortLists -- Posted via a free Usenet account from http://www.teranews.com |

Just put one or two sites, maybe del.icio.us and sphereit, and "Ctrl-D to bookmark this page" too; I don't see enough people doing that. There's probably a good wordpress plugin that does it all. A lot of people also use addthis.com or ekstreme.com. The dumbest thing ever is putting the html linking code that you want people to use, unless you run an seo contest, which is either exponentially dumber or pretty smart, I'm not sure which yet. It seems to be working for these guys, shopauto.ca/seo.phtml , at least for 'used car classifieds', where they rank 17th. They rank 29th for 'used cars'. I'm not sure where they ranked before. |
