I received a call on my cell phone today (it is my whois phone
number). A lady with a thick Indian accent called from a noisy location. She told me that she wants to speak to the "head of the company". Then she said that she is working "on behalf of Google and Yahoo". Then she asked me if I heard of "Link Popularity Program". At this point I recalled having been called by some other indian scam ("Internet registry something or other") I was not interested. (and a few other words about not working for scam companies, nothing unsavory though) My question is whether anyone else received such phone calls. i |

The former would indicate it's *most* definitely a scam, but either way, it's definitely a scam. Haven't heard of such stories, but telemarketers are one of the reasons I rarely answer the phone (never at work). It's like SPAM. The are killing the medium. -- ~~ Enjoying summertime Roy S. I put the phone down. I am very lucky in some respects as I always (well, usually) know when I am getting a cold call sales call as I hung up on the marketer who originally asked for my company details and then sold them to every living soul who wanted to buy them - but as I hung up they must have substituted my name as when I get calls for the alias name I either hang up, put them on hold until *they* hang up or I have a little fun with them. :-) Jez. |
