Google diagnostics report my home page with status 404(Not Found)
Here is the issue.
My website is http://mladprogramist.com When I log into google webmaster central and go to Disagnostics I see this message: We can't currently access your home page because of an HTTP error (404). And my home page is in web crawl errors section. Why is that? I have a valid sitemap http://mladprogramist.com/sitemap.xml Error pages are redirected to index.php in my root directory? There should be no errors at all. I cannot figure out where is the problem? Please  |

Please typing your address directly into google only gives one page :- http://mladprogramist.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=23 I do wonder if this is a spoken language issue, or possibly google prefers www prefix's. There is some anomaly that I cannot figure out. My home page is
accessible. Tried in all browsers. Tried also with Microsoft's WFetch utility, the results seems to be OK: 0x2733 connect() finished. started.... Afterall google keeps telling me: We can't currently access your home page because of an HTTP error (404). [?] And the most bothering thing is this message: Googlebot last successfully accessed your home page on Nov 6, 2006. Definately, somthing is wrong. But I cannot repeat the problem to fix it. If someone has expirenced such a problem I would appriciate it. |

http://mladprogramist.com/wibblewobble.html returns a 200 server
response. It _should_ return a 404. Your custom 404 page is returning the wrong server response code. |

I've succeeded to remove the 404 error returned by the home page. My
custom 404 page is working only for google bot. Others are redirected to my home page. Now google doesn't report that cannot access home page but the message "Googlebot last successfully accessed your home page on Nov 6, 2006." still stands. |

"We can't currently access your home page because of a redirect error." and URLs that are not Followed: http://www.hotel-kompas.hr/Home.aspx...=1&gohome=true and http://www.hotel-kompas.hr/ It seems that there is problem with redirecting pages? You are not reading carefully what I am writing. 404 error is send
only to googlebot, not to other visitors. And there si no problem with that because It verifies successfully to google. But google crawls avrage 35 pages per day. Why 6-th of november is the last time it accessed my home page? |

Quote what you are answering, I have no idea what you refer to and which post you are answering. If your site sends correct 200 now, wait for a week or two, Google index is not updated immediately.
