A couple years ago I registered a .com domain name that I intended to use.
It's directly related to a hot collectible musical accessory (these things sell on eBay for $50-$500). The domain is a (long-defunct) brandname followed by the name of the item, for intance, something akin to "AcmeStrings." Just got an inquiry asking if I would like to sell the domain name, making a vague offer of "my client might pay somewhere between $50-100). Any idea how I should determine a price? Thanks for your thoughts! Denise |

I decided to take the 100 bucks. The guy is a webdesigner (I've seen his very templatey-looking design site) who says he's got a client who wants it to sell the items it relates to. The deal went down this afternoon & he's already got a "coming soon" page up. Ah, well. Probably could have asked for more but it's nice to have a fast $100 for a name I wasn't using anyway. Thanks for your opinions. And, I will check out dnforum.com - cheers ~ Denise |

Just put a reserve on your auction that is like a million dollars. See if anyone bids on it. Of course some people refuse to bid on reserve auctions. So then you can just do a regular auction and either sell it at the end of the auction or just refuse to sell. The worst you'll get is a negative feedback. |
