No, all I did was refresh my chatpage, which has 3 frames, while the
server was having hiccups. This resulted in 3 (or 6, or 9, as I tried
more than once) "failed logins", which means automagic block of IP.
Lasted for days, until the host finally read my super-urgent desk
ticket, and after searching for my IP in the IP-block tables without
finding it, added my IP to the permanent allow list.

This was only the start of all my problems with that host, so I have
switched and stuff like that doesn't happen anymore :-)

I got Amazon uk again though. The others I can't ping even, they time
out and report packet loss. I suppose it will pass.

I got onto ebay only to find my account has been hacked! I have been
frozen out of my own account! Ebay sent me an email to tell me that my
password had been changed due to unouthorised activity - but I obviously
never read it as all the emails I get from "ebay" are usually phishing
ones. Don't think I can reclaim my account either.

Yep, reclaim PW shoudl work, otherwise you should get in touch with
Ebay, they can usually fix these things - plus they can you with
legal issues ...

No, I tried that but ebay were concerned that someone had hacked my
email account also. I had to reset the password and secret questions. I
also reset my email password in case they were right. I was lucky to
have got it back by all accounts - at least with my feedback still good.
They cancelled over 20 listings for designer clothes and bags that
someone had listed under my account!

It makes you wonder how this can happen, I am diligent about spyware and
so on.

I better change all my important passwords! Starting with paypal!!
