I finally decided to make a Google sitemap, and downloaded the generator
this morning. But I'm stuck - the instructions for the configuration file just have me stumped. I get to the "modify or delete" section and get lost. I'm pretty web-savvy but somehow this just escapes me. Does anyone know of a good site that explains which options to configure, in simple terms? Yes, I've Googled for an answer but didn't really locate anything that explains it much differently than Google does. There must be something out there ~ (?) best, Denise |

I don't really configure any options myself, I just let the generator do whatever it does automatically. I've looked at the myriad of settings there are and dismissed them as simply being over-complicated - who has time? Let Googlebot do the work it was intended to. BB |

how about just creating the sitemap.txt file. It seems easier to me.

You could try e.g. A1 Sitemap Generator: http://www.micro-sys.dk/products/sitemap-generator/ Else check: http://code.google.com/sm_thirdparty.html best regards Thomas Schulz |

You might also want to look at the Google site map generator built into the Zoom Search Engine V5. See, http://www.wrensoft.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1122 and http://www.wrensoft.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1125 It can create a site map, check your site for broken links and create a local search function for your site in a single pass of the spider.
