Hi
I have ed design another website (with a good Google-Pagerank) and have been given the permission to create a "Designed by" page on it on which I am pretty much free to write what I want. I am the owner of the website: http://www.happyads.ch which is an Ads website. I am thinking of using the "Designed by" page to link to happyads.ch. Do you have any tips on what could have the most impact on Google search results (without trying to cheat)? I was thinking of creating a link to the main page: Classified ads then links to each indivual ad type page: For example: Car ads, Real estate ads, Animal ads... Would that be ok or would that be too many links? Should I include the links in a small descriptive text? Thanks for any |

Be chatty: Let us deign ads for you! Our customers include sites that utilize our services to create everything from <link>real estate ads</link> to <link>pet grooming ads</link>. We host <link>classofied ads</link> and <link>display ads</link>, and our IT specialists can you design everything you need, from <banner ads> to be used in <link>advertising link exchange programs</link> to a <link>fully functional turnkey web site with domain hosting</link>. Et cetera. Remember, in addition to google, someone human is going to READ this page, and google does not favour the algorithm of building a robot pge to be read by robots -- its corporate aim is to give preference to pages that humans can read for content. Think of google as a not-yet-perfected artificial intelligence system rather than an elaborate counting machine, and you will always be ahead of the curve as the google algorithm changes. cat yronwode |

I was also wondering if there is a limit to the number of links you can have from one site to another? Reading this from Google's Webmaster guidelines: http://www.google.com/support/webmas...y?answer=35769 "Avoid "doorway" pages created just for search engines" Does Google make a difference between a very generous (in links) "designed by" page and a doorway page? Where does Google set the limit? Thanks |

People speak in terms of a finite upper limit to the number of links on a page and also in terms of keyword "density" (percentage of words in text blocks that are links), and they also tell you to limit the number of links from one site to another on the page -- but in truth, i have seen so practical limitation to these, provided the content is there. Check out this highly ranked page of mine -- and notice both the high keyword density and the number of links -- yet it is one of the most-often-accessed entry pages at my site, when searches are made on the topic words it covers: http://www.luckymojo.com/spells.html Free Magic Spells > Reading this from Google's Webmaster guidelines: > http://www.google.com/support/webmas...y?answer=35769 > > "Avoid "doorway" pages created just for search engines" > > Does Google make a difference between a very generous (in links) > "designed by" page and a doorway page? Where does Google set the limit? > > Thanks As i understand the term, "doorway" pages have little or no content, that is, they are a door through which you must enter to get to the content -- but i am advising you to go for real content on the page itself. cat yronwode Herb and Root Magic --- http://www.luckymojo.com/hoodooherbmagic.html |
