Dunno if this is the right NG for this question but I'll
give it a shot. Can someone tell me how to find a specific NG post and replies to it using google. I remember I used to do it all the time on google a long time ago--going under "Groups" there was a sorta advanced search page where ya could put date-range, poster name, and NG name and immediately get everything on that post--now there seems no provision for it at all. Why the hell did they change this? How is it done now--nothing I tried seems to work. Newsgroups aren't even mentioned...anywhere! Thanx for any -- ....tonyC |

I use the country-specific google.ca, but it should work for -.com, -.no, -.fr, etc. From GOOGLE HOME (www.google.ca) go to -> Groups -> Advanced Group Search. This page should have all the fields for NG name, date-range etc. If it works, bookmark the search page so it's easier to find next time. What I get is http://groups.google.ca/advanced_group_search A while (1 year??) ago, Google changed the name to "Google-Groups-Beta" which changed the output format somewhat. They now just call it just "Google-Groups" -- David Dermott , Wolfville Ridge, Nova Scotia, Canada skating page: http://www.dermott.ca/ski/skating.html |
