Hello,
I have been working hard on this site http://www.internetsecurity101.net for many months, but am a real novice when it comes to search engine optimization. I am receiving most of my hits from Yahoo, some MSN, and very few from Google. My most popular page is http://www.internetsecurity101.net/slowcomputer.html, which is where I receive the majority of my search engine traffic. I used to receive lots of hits from MSN on http://www.internetsecurity101.net/free.html, but it seems since I added content to that page, I don't get much search engine traffic on that page. Up until now I have focussed my efforts primarily on creating orriginal content and what I hope is a useful, informative, attractive, easy to navigate site. Any /advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Chris H. Internet Security 101 - http://www.internetsecurity101.net |

I think someone has told Chris H. that if he posts his link in the n.g. they will get archived by a number of websites and will then get picked up by the spiders. |

Hello David, I did know that, but my primary reason for posting to newsgroups is not to have my link archived by a number of websites and picked up by the spiders. I am a novice webmaster and have lots of questions and I have learnt a lot by reading posts in newsgroups and posting a few questions that I have. Chris H. |

Doesn't seem to do me much good. I didn't think that it did much good anymore either Phil. If it did work with all the postings I have made my pagerank should be higher than 3! :-) |

Doesn't seem to do me much good. I'm trying to conduct an experiment with my site below, see how that gets on. If it did >work with all the postings I have made my pagerank should be higher >than 3! :-) I'm thinking more in terms of indexing myself, getting out of the supplementals and so forth.
