Hi
Does people "report" sites to google, if they think their are only build for ad-purposes ? I've got one site like that that I do some hobby testing on, and again, one more of my sites, has seen a 90% drop from one day to the other. I was thinking, can someone "report" sites to google, and thus the drop ? It's really strange, I've now seen 3 sites drop like that ! Rgds Jakob |

It would overload the Google abuse desk with reports of trigger happy whiners who are too lazy to file a proper complaint. And I'm telling you, the next thing that happens is that somebody else writes a system tray proggie that detects things that he doesn't like and the complaints are automatically sent to Google. Unattended spam reporting, and all his trigger happy lazy friends start using it. It's the same way the spamhaus and spamcop blacklists became totally unrelyable. |

If it was, then you knew you were doing wrong and you cannot complain. If there was no way on earth that is was, then ; 1: You should have used a different subject header. 2: You were not punished. You were not clear on "90% drop from one day to the other" 90% of what ? visitors ? loss of adsense earnings ? If loss of visitors, then adsense wasn't your problem. If it is loss of earnings with roughly the same amount of clicks, then that could be for a number of reasons. I had adsense a while ago. Was earning double figures per day. All of a sudden my earnings were half of what I was earning. Don't forget there is a click fraud algo and I think it is already out there. There are lots of factors. Contact google if you think there is a problem. plh Paul -- Advertise your American Indian Art http://www.firstpeople.us/FP-Html-Forums/rent.html or web site. ----== Posted via Newsfeeds.Com - Unlimited-Unrestricted-Secure Usenet News==---- http://www.newsfeeds.com The #1 Newsgroup Service in the World! 120,000+ Newsgroups ----= East and West-Coast Server Farms - Total Privacy via Encryption =---- |

My site was build with ads in mind. I'm not really complaining, since it's only a test site, but curious to find a reason and learn from that. The 90% was a traffic drop. Adsense just follows the drop relatively. So, I was wondering about the reason for the drop. I saw on three sites on one day, one specific IP sucking all pages. Could it've been copied, published, and thus be taking the same traffic on another site ? Cheers |
