Hello,

I have a site which has over 20 page links from page ranked sites, my
site has been visited by googlebot 15 times and is now listed in google
but has no pageranking. also when checking for backlinks in google, it
says I have none. Will the page ranking & backlink detection come later?

It depends on if Google wants to show the backlinks or not. PR comes later
but is always behind what your real time PR (PageRank) is. Page Ranking in
the Index takes time. You need to have your pages more relevant than the
ones before you to rank. This includes, content, links, and other things to
factor the page ranking in the index.

Very probably. If you're indexed, that's good. Go for some more
quality links now.

I haven't seen page rank info in my google toolbar for a few days. Is it my
machine or is google not showing anyone?

Are you referring to your homepage, or an internal page ?
Is the site newish ?

A lot of sites have lost internal PR.
A new site won't show PR on the toolbar until the next toolbar update,
which happened [or could still be happening] about 2 weeks ago.

It won't show any PR until the next PR update.

Don't worry too much about PageRank (unless it stays at zero after the next
update despite many high-quality, related inbound links).

I think PageRank is some kind of inside joke at Google. They have fun
manipulating the displayed numbers and then watching people go crazy over
PageRank.

The secret algorithm for Google PageRank revealed:

DisplayedPageRank = PageRank
if $webpage contains the word "viagra" > 3
DisplayedPageRank += 0.574893 * ((poker / 0.9) * ((OBLs * 1.1) - 0.000223))
else
DisplayedPageRank += 0.019*-34/239 - 0.4329/7

Meanwhile, the real pagerank is significantly different. They are just
joking around and laughing about it. It doesn't really matter...

Not quite; I'm trying blogger.com which used to have PR 10 or so :-D.
Anyway, I understand from others it should work so I try a reinstall of the
toolbar.

What toolbar are you using ?
A friend of mine wrote the other day and said that she has the new one
installed and has no PR at all. Yet, I have an earlier version and it
does.
If you need an earlier version, I can email one to you.

I installed and reinstalled the version they have on their website today
but no PR info. If you could email that older version it would be great.
