OT: 419 Scam by post.

Amazed this morning to receive my first 419
scam by post.
Virtually the same as the emails, someone had
died and left a big fund ($30million)
Makes you wonder how many people fall for these
if the scammers are prepared to pay for stamps.

Business must be good if scammers can afford them. Bet we don't get
many in the UK. I'm safe because they'll all get delivered somewhere
else.

On a similar note, after many broken english e-mails from an unknown
customer, we recieved payment by cheque to the sum of £3000 for an £1100
bit of kit.

The mystery customer still hasn't given us a delivery address, but the
"cheque" came wrapped in a sheet of carbon paper and postcode & Stamps
are Nigerian.

To cap it all off, the numbers on the bottom of the cheque have been
visibly "doctored" but funniest of all, the inkjet printer it has been
printed on was out of alignment and there are 3 pronounced steps in the
horizontal lines. Not to mention it looks like it's been cut out by hand!

We're still playing the sender up while trying to get a delivery address
so we can wind him up good and proper when the time is right.

It's sad that it kills any chance of raising money for a genuine, noble
cause. People ignore or killfile any (electronic) request for .
