Sorry my poor english. I have Apache 1.3.33 running on my Mac. I wish
to edit the config file. This is why: 1- I have Apache's fancy directory listing enabled. At the bottom the standard info shows up as "Apache/1.3.33 Server at..." but I would like it to say the full "Apache/1.3.33 (Darwin) Server at...". I know it is possible but can't remember what I need to change in the config file. Can anyone ? 2- I run Apache on my main computer to serve small files and to host a photo gallery. Are there any good websites for newbies so that I can: 2.1- Be sure to have a secure Apache config file (like avoiding too many people using my Mac and so using all my machines resources or bandwith, etc.) 2.2- Tweak Apache speed a bit (my ISP has bad upload) Thank you very much for your time. |

I couldn't get the tip number 1 to work. I'm editing httpd.conf file (Apache 1.3.33 Darwin) but couldn't find a ServerToken to edit. Adding it by hand wouldn't change anything. Am I doing something wrong? |

The docs I pointed you to are for Apache 1.3.x, if they don't work, you're not using a version of Apache that I am able to provide any for. Now, did you say that you DID add the line to httpd.conf and restarted apache? Or that the line didn't exist, and thats that? Add that line in the Apache httpd.conf file, and restart Apache. |
