Hi all,
[Please CC me, I'm not subscribed]
Can anyone tell me why hwclock --directisa works on this laptop (Dell
Inspirion) but /dev/rtc does not (linux 2.6.21 from Debian sid)?
# hwclock --directisa --show
Fri Jun 1 15:36:11 2007 -0.377827 seconds
# hwclock --show
select() to /dev/rtc to wait for clock tick timed out
# lspci | grep ISA
00:1f.0 ISA bridge: Intel Corporation 82801GBM (ICH7-M) LPC Interface Bridge (rev 01)
# lspci -n | grep 00:1f.0
00:1f.0 0601: 8086:27b9 (rev 01)
Is there a module udev isn't loading that it should be? Or do I need to
write a driver for it?

bye,
pabs
