1) Use your ISP's spam blocker (if they have one).
2) Get a free throw-away email address for posting to any public forums
(like usenet). Thats what I use for posting.
3) Munge the email address when posting publicly (see my email address).
4) Use thunderbird for email and start "training" the junk mail filter
by clickin the "junk" button for junk emails. It probably filter about
95% of the junk.
