We have Hyper running in VAST now (along with Sport and the PostgreSQL
driver). If you don't know what Hyper is, have a look here:
http://wiki.cs.uiuc.edu/VisualWorks/Hyper
The port was fairly smooth, with most time spent figuring out how to break
Sport, Hyper and the PostgreSQL driver into ENVY maps, apps and sub-apps.
If you'd like to try Hyper out in VAST, send me an email at bbadger at
openskills.com and I'll send the .dat file to you.
.... and this is one area where Store scores over ENVY. Store allows for
(and even encourages) people to use a publicly shared repository. I think
this really s in sustaining a community of developers. If only there
were a viable cross-dialect version control system ... Monticello 2?
All the best,
Bruce
