Par défaut Scavenge Stale Resource Records?

Good morning Ladies and Gentlemen,

I have a simple question about the "Scavenge Stale Resource Records"
function.

OS: Windows 2003 Server

I am finding myself coming close to using all my IP addresses
(192.168.x.x, 255.255.255.0 range), and we are using Dynamic IP
addressing internally.

I see I have many computers in my 'Forward Lookup Zones' that are
mapped to numerous IP addresses. I would like to free those up. Would
this be done by using 'Scavenge Stale Resource Records'?

My concern is that I have manually entered some IP addresses (A Hosts)
and words to redirect internal users to certain servers. Would these
also get removed by setting the 'Scavenge' settings?

Would I need to go into DHCP and reserve those manually created IPs in
DHCP prior to doing the Scavenge?

Thanks in advance for your assustance folks, as always.

Have a great day.

Chris H.
