PHWinfo - Afficher un message - Disable recursion and configure a forwarder?

I know I can do this within the properties of a DNS server, but functionally,
can I disable recursion on a DNS server and then configure it with a
forwarder and expect name resolution (external) to work? I thought that I'd
seen where this cannot be done but I can't seem to find a clear answer, and
I'm not 100% sure I understood the information I found. Thanks in advance
for any advice.
