Re: Installing SQL2000 on Server 2003
Not sure what to do next, outside of opening a ticket with Microsoft. The
log you posted shows nothing out of the ordinary. I've installed SQL 2000
on Windows 2003 many times and didn't see this type of behaviour.

I can't install the SP... when you install SQL server, the service starts
as
part of the installation process, to do initial configuration. That is the
point where the installation fails... since it fails during initial
configuration, the entire install is then backed out. Any attempt to
install
a SP just results in "SQL Server 2000 is not installed"
