Hi Kim,

To display the formula bar, go to Tools > Options> View > and check the box
next to "formula bar".

A toolbar will appear in the head.

Click on the cell with the date in it, and in the formula bar (the textfield
right next to where it say's "fx") it will show what Excel sees in that
cell.
If it just shows the date, just like it reads in the cell, it's something
else.
However, if it shows a formula starting with "=", there's the problem.
If it's doing that, just copy the code out of the formula bar and paste in
in the reply.

To see exactly what I mean, in an empty cell type:
=2+2

After you hit enter, it will say 4 in the cell but the formula bar will
read:
=2+2

I know Excel very well.
