Thank you for the replies. The Tools/Options/File types has .wmv checked.

I have given up trying to NOT use Windows Media Player but how do I solve the
fact that the .wmv file is in the Dreamweaver Site, it is linked to a page when
I preview the page Windows Media Player says: "Windows Media Player cannot play
the file. If the file is on another computer, verify that you are connected to
the network. If you typed a path, verify that it is correct. If the problem
persists, the server might not be available."

The 'file' is both in it's own media library and it is in the site and
linked?? What am i doing wrong? The site is only local it is not yet on the
web, so no internet is needed and will be demonstrated at the weekend on the
local machine only. The link works because it launches Windows Media Player to
try and play the video!!
