Take a look at my post on 2/13/2008 titled "Network Adapter disconnected".

I have set my W2003 guest in VS2005 to autostart with the host system
(a WinXP-Pro SP2 box).
It simply will not work....

I Use VMRCPlus for my admin chores.

I set the account to use (=my own) and I enter the password in the box
and click Apply (at which time the password box is cleared).

In the Startup/Shutdown tab I have tried this:

Action when Virtual Server stops: Save State or Shut down guest
(tried both but see no difference)

Checked "Run this guest with specified account"
Username = my own account name
Password = my own password
Action = Always autostart guest
Startup delay = 60 s

If I restart my XP-Pro host (for example after Windows Update has done
its thing like yesterday) the system comes back up, but my server
guest remains non-running. :-(

Can someone say *exactly* how one must configure this?

In the account box for example, do I enter just a user account name or
a Domain\account pair?

Must the domain controller be reachable for this to work? (My PC is
attached to a domain that is not on my home network, I have to connect
using VPN to reach the domain network).

Can I use a local account and if so must I enter it as
Computer\account?

It seems like I am not the only one having trouble with this autostart
thing, so maybe someone can direct us to a full HOWTO on the subject?
